The short version: the app does not phone home, and we keep only what a purchase actually requires.
Last updated 23 September 2026
Okie Dockie makes no network connections at all unless you buy a licence or it checks for an update. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no account and no telemetry of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere.
What the app can see, and what it does with it
Okie Dockie needs macOS Accessibility permission, because that is the only interface macOS offers for moving and focusing other applications' windows. Through it the app reads window positions, sizes and titles.
Window titles are used for one purpose: matching a Chrome window to the profile that opened it. That happens entirely on your Mac, is held in memory, and is never written to disk or transmitted. The app cannot read the contents of a window, and it has no screen recording permission — which is why it shows no thumbnails.
When you send feedback
The Send Feedback window has a tick box, Include technical details. Left on, your message arrives with your Okie Dockie and macOS versions, which features are switched on, your screens, and a short list of anything that failed in the last seven days — a display that would not switch, a profile click that found no window, and the like. That list is kept on your Mac for seven days and is sent only when you send feedback. It never includes window titles, web addresses, profile names or anything you typed. Untick the box and only your message, and the email address you choose to give, are sent.
What we store when you buy
A purchase is handled by Razorpay. We never see or hold your card details. What reaches our server is:
- Your email address — the licence is issued against it, and it is how you sign in to the app.
- Your name, and country and company if you entered them, for the invoice.
- The Razorpay payment id, so a payment can be matched to a licence for support or a refund.
If you ticked the update box, we also note that, and email you only when there is a new version. Every such email has an unsubscribe link. If you did not tick it, you will hear from us only in reply to something you send.
Activating on your Macs
A licence covers three Macs. To keep count, the app sends a one-way hash of a machine identifier when it activates. We store that hash against a hash of your licence key. Neither can be reversed, so the registry cannot tell us what computers you own or anything about them — only that there are three of something.
After activating, the app works offline. It re-checks roughly every two weeks and keeps working for fourteen days without reaching us at all.
Updates
The updater asks our server for a version file. That request carries nothing but your current version and the ordinary details any web request carries. You can turn automatic checks off in the app's menu.
Visiting this website
We count visits to okiedockie.app ourselves, to know how many people visit, which pages they read, which country they are in and where they came from. There are no cookies, no third-party analytics and nothing stored in your browser. Your IP address is used only to look up the country and to count you once a day; it is never stored, and the daily count cannot be linked from one day to the next. Country lookup uses DB-IP's database on our own server.
Who else gets your data
Razorpay, to take the payment, under their own privacy policy. Our mail provider, to deliver your licence and sign-in codes. Nobody else — we do not sell, rent or share anything with advertisers or data brokers, and there are no third-party trackers on this website.
How long we keep it
Purchase records are kept while the licence is valid, and then as long as tax law requires us to keep proof of a sale. Sign-in codes expire in minutes and are deleted. Activation hashes disappear when a seat is released.
Your choices
Write to support@okiedockie.app and we will send you everything we hold on you, correct it, or delete it. Deleting it ends the licence, since the email address is the licence — we will say so before acting.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date above changes and anyone who has bought a licence is told by email.
